Official Ranger Report
Fog rolled in early tonight.
Normally thatβs good for business.
Unfortunately, so did a family of bats that apparently mistook my ranger hat for a perfectly respectable place to hang upside down.
I walked halfway through the cemetery before someone politely informed me I had four unexpected passengers.
The bats apologized.
Wellβ¦they squeaked.
I accepted that as an apology.
Patrol Summary
- Haunted sightings: 12
- Bat hitchhikers: 4
- Ranger dignity: Still recovering.
Until tomorrow.

Official Ranger Report
Patrol started quietly enough.
The lanterns were lit.
The pumpkins were smiling.
The fog was behaving itself.
Then I heard giggling.
Not unusualβ¦
Until I realized the giggling was coming from the cemetery.
After a quick investigation, I discovered three tiny ghosts hiding behind tombstones, jumping out to scare each other.
Every single one of them screamed louder than the ghost doing the haunting.
I informed them that successful haunting requires confidence.
They thanked me and immediately scared themselves again.
Some lessons take time.
Until tomorrowβ¦

Official Ranger Report:
Found a tiny vampire trying to convince everyone he was βabsolutely not afraid of ducks.β
He was, in fact, terrified of ducks.
Situation resolved after we redirected the ducks toward the haunted pond with a trail of breadcrumbs.
Zero injuries.
One bruised ego.
The ducks won.
Some battles arenβt worth documentingβ¦
Unfortunately, this one was.

Official Ranger Report:
Todayβs mission was to organize the candy supply.
I organized it.
Then I counted it.
Then I counted it again.
The number changed.
Now, there are only three possible explanations.
- I counted wrong.
- The candy is moving by itself.
- A ghost has a sweet tooth.
Iβm currently investigating all three possibilities.
While patrolling the wagon, I also discovered a spider building a web between two buckets. I politely informed him that permits are required for new construction.
He ignored me.
Honestly, thatβs fair.
Tomorrowβs mission is to continue preparations and maybe solve the mystery of the disappearing candy.
Unless itβs explanation number three.
Then Iβll simply leave a note asking the ghost to save me one.

Todayβs official mission was simple.
Take inventory.
Now, I know what youβre thinking.
βRanger Marrow, surely counting buckets canβt be that difficult.β
Thatβs what I thought too.
Everything was going perfectly until Bucket #14 disappeared.
I searched the wagon.
I searched behind the wagon.
I even checked inside Bucket #13, just in case Bucket #14 had somehow become shy.
No luck.
About ten minutes later, I found it exactly where Iβd started.
Iβm choosing to believe it wandered off for a little adventure.
The rest of the afternoon went much more smoothly. I inspected decorations, made sure the pumpkins were looking respectable, and performed the very important task of candy quality control.
For the recordβ¦
Chocolate still tastes like chocolate.
Excellent news.
On my walk back, I spotted a crow watching me from a fence post. I gave him my best ranger salute.
He blinked once and flew away.
Iβll count that as a successful diplomatic meeting.
Tomorrow Iβll try counting the buckets again.
Iβm optimistic.
The buckets probably know Iβm onto them now.
Until the next patrol,
